Our Story Begins Here
About the Neighborhood
Plantation Key Colony is located on Plantation Key in the Florida Keys, just south of Tavernier Creek Bridge and north of Snake Creek. Although some homes carry Tavernier zip codes, all PKC residents fall under the Village of Islamorada, receiving village services and enjoying the area’s strong sense of community.
Historical Roots
The neighborhood’s name reflects its pineapple plantation heritage. The island of Plantation Key also once featured a significant Indian mound with artifacts dating back to 500–700 AD. Over time, agriculture gave way to residential growth, and in 1997, the island officially became part of Islamorada.
